1. Overview
KisanSathi ("we", "our", or "the App") helps farmers discover, buy, sell, and rent agricultural equipment. We only collect data required to deliver the service and keep it secure using Google Firebase, AWS S3, and verified OTP providers. We never sell personal data.
2. Data We Collect & Purpose
Phone number & OTP metadata
Collected during login to verify identity, secure accounts, and prevent fraud.
Approximate location
Captured only when you enable nearby ads or choose to share location. Used to show listings around you and deliver location-aware notifications.
User-generated content
Photos, videos, descriptions, prices, and messages you upload. Used to display listings, power search, and help other users contact you.
Device identifiers & push tokens
Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens and device model info to send real-time alerts and secure sessions.
Diagnostics, crash, and performance data
Logged through Firebase Crashlytics/Performance to detect crashes, ANRs, and latency, helping us keep the app reliable.
3. How We Use & Share Data
- Firebase Auth, Firestore, Storage: account management, listing data, chat, media hosting.
- AWS S3 (optional deployments): durable storage for large media files.
- OTP provider (e.g., Twilio): receives phone number + OTP text solely to deliver verification codes.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: routes push notifications using device tokens.
- Crashlytics & Performance: process crash stacks and device context for debugging.
Service providers act under confidentiality agreements and cannot sell or reuse your data. We do not sell personal information.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
- Account data persists until you delete your account or request deletion.
- Listings and media remain until removed by you; backups purge within 90 days.
- Crash logs and analytics aggregates are stored for up to 13 months.
You can request deletion via the in-app option or by emailing carvind703@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
5. Security
All traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity protect against unauthorized access. Access to Firebase and AWS consoles requires MFA, logged activity, and least-privilege roles.
6. Children
KisanSathi targets adult farmers (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us for removal.
7. Changes
We may update this policy for legal or operational reasons. Material updates will be posted here with a revised effective date.
